Update Your Email Address: We Are Going Green

September 1, 2015

Beginning June 2016, the UBC Pension Administration Office will no longer produce a paper version of the quarterly information sheet. Over the next several months, we will transition to an email version of the information sheet called “UBC Faculty Pension Plan Update,” which includes important information and latest news from the UBC Faculty Pension Plan and the UBC Pension Administration Office.

As part of the transition, we have already begun sending the email version to Active members for whom we have valid email addresses. Deferred and Retired members will continue to receive a paper version until June 2016. We encourage our members to provide or update their email address to continue receiving communications from the UBC Faculty Pension Plan and the UBC Pension Administration Office, which also includes Pension Forum and seminar invitations, surveys, and announcements.

Here’s how you can update your email address:

Active Member

You are an active member if you currently make contributions to the Plan.

Update your email address through Workday.
Deferred Member

You are a deferred member if you no longer make contributions but have money invested in the Plan, and are not receiving payment from any of the Plan’s retirement options.
Update your email address by signing in to mysunlife.ca/ubcfpp and then select Profile, or through the Sun Life Financial Customer Care Centre at 1-844-UBC-3131, select Option 2.
Retired Member

You are a retired member if you are receiving payment from one or more of the Plan’s retirement options.
The RRIF/LIF-Type Payment and Variable Payment Life Annuity (VPLA) accounts reside on separate systems at Sun Life Financial. If you have both a RRIF/LIF-Type Payment account and a VPLA account, you will need to update your contact information for both accounts as per below:

RRIF/LIF-Type Payments:
Update your email address through mysunlife.ca/ubcfpp and then select Profile, or through the Sun Life Financial Customer Care Centre at 1-844-UBC-3131, select Option 3.

VPLA Payments:
Update your email address through the Sun Life Financial Customer Care Centre at 1-844-UBC-3131, select Option 4.
