In the fall of 2014, Sun Life Financial was selected to become the new record keeper and custodian for the UBC Faculty Pension Plan (FPP) effective June 2015. On June 23, 2015, the Plan assets and member accounts were successfully transferred to Sun Life Financial. Sun Life Financial holds the Plan assets exclusively for the FPP, and the assets are held separate and apart from Sun Life Financial’s assets, and are invested in accordance with the Plan’s Statement of Investment Policies and Goals.
The FPP is now co-administered by the UBC Pension Administration Office and Sun Life Financial. The UBC Pension Administration Office continues to provide member services such as seminars and one-on-one meetings to support members during their employment at UBC, through retirement and beyond.
The FPP would like to thank our members for their patience during the transition and would like to express our appreciation for the feedback we received. Members will receive an email invitation in late 2015 to participate in an online survey on the transition communications and experience.
