Which investments are right for you?

November 7, 2023

The UBC FPP is a defined contribution pension plan. This means that your retirement income is not pre-determined – it is based on your account’s assets at the time you retire. During your working years, the key is to grow your account balance as much as possible to help you achieve your retirement goals.

All FPP members are responsible for deciding how to invest their assets. The way you invest your assets today will significantly impact the amount of money you ultimately accumulate for the future. Your investment strategy will depend on your personal situation, including risk tolerance, other savings, and your retirement timeline.

TO DO: We encourage you to review our Asset Allocation Choices article and to use our Asset Allocation tool to help determine which investments are right for you.
