Beneficiary Designations

Members are reminded to review their beneficiary information to ensure their designations are up to date. Your beneficiary is the person(s) or organization(s) that you choose to receive your pension benefits after your death. Pension legislation requires that your spouse be named as your primary beneficiary unless your spouse waives this right. If you do not designate a beneficiary, the default beneficiary shown on your records will be your estate. Your beneficiary information is available by signing into Select my financial centre > Quick Links > Beneficiary info. Your quarterly statement of account also confirms your beneficiary information.

Choosing a beneficiary
Detailed information on beneficiary designation is available on our Designating a Beneficiary page.

If you wish to change your beneficiary, please print and complete a Change of Records form. It is important to note that all previous beneficiary designations on file will be overwritten once a new Change of Record form has been received. Therefore, all sections relating to beneficiary designations must be completed to ensure your beneficiary information is up to date.
